We are seeking a creative and highly motivated individual, with at least two years of direct sales experience, to sell magazine advertising for a new innovative magazine, targeting the female professional.

You must have proven success in advertising sales.  We need a hard working self starter with a positive attitude, healthy self esteem and excellent organizational skills.
Candidates must have a good understanding of the sales process and a love of magazines.
Candidates must have experience and interest selling web/digital ad space.

The ideal candidate requirements:

  1. Must be a self-starter with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and proven sales experience in a media sales environment
  2. Have the desire and determination to succeed in the rapidly changing world of media
  3. Have the ability to work alone / independently with an entrepreneurial spirit - you like the idea of building your own business!

Candidate responsibilities (but not limited to):

  1. Prospect for new accounts including researching advertisers in competing publications and reviewing new businesses in the Canada and the USA
  2. Create your own sales leads via telephone or by direct sales walk-in methods
  3. Negotiate rates with clients within acceptable guidelines
  4. Prepare presentations for customers and prospects
  5. Prepare formal quotations for approval by President
  6. Submit and present quotations to customers and follow-up

Job Description
Seasoned Executive Assistant operating at the highest level, reporting to the CEO. You will act as the primary day-to-day interface between clients, contacts, and the agency. You are comfortable running and managing an office at an administrative level. Your attention to detail is impeccable and you can handle budgets, and client and supplier interactions with a professional demeanor.

Additional Responsibilities
• Creates PR Kits, assembles gift baskets, drafts PR memos, and oversees promotional sourcing and coordination.
• Manages filing system and maintains records
• Processes invoices and out-of-pocket expenses and manages Petty Cash
• Assists with facility service coordination (phone, computer, fax, shipping, office supplies, document management on and off-site)
• Assists with other projects as assigned

Requirements:
• College/University Degree is preferred in Office Administration or Secretarial program
• 5 years’ experience in the Marketing / Advertising Sector preferred
• Speak, read, and write in English. Fluency in French is an asset
• Proficient in Windows operating system, general office equipment, email, word processing software and internet
• Superior knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in presentations and spreadsheets - ability to create, edit and proofread communications ensuring grammatical correctness
• Strong oral and written communication skills/interpersonal skills, including a professional telephone manner
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills, and ability to multitask with several priorities
• Excellent sense of confidentiality
• Flexible, confident, high-energy level, and driven toward results
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
